TTAL Joins the Tourism Community in Codemning the Tragic Incident Involving a Foreign National
Posted Nov 27, 2025
Thursday 27th November 2025, Scarborough: The Tobago Tourism Agency Limited (TTAL) is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of a visiting guest in Castara. We extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of the deceased, and our prayers are with all who are grieving during this painful time.
Tobago has long been known for its warmth, its welcome and its genuine community spirit, and TTAL stands firmly with the Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation (DOTCAT) in condemning this act of violence. Like the Division, we know this incident does not reflect the character of our people or the peaceful rhythm of life on our island. Castara, in particular, has long stood as a beacon of community tourism, and this is the first incident of its kind in the village.
TTAL continues to work closely with the Division as they coordinate with the relevant authorities and support the family on island through established trauma-response protocols. As we navigate this difficult moment, our resolve to protect and uplift the visitor experience remains steadfast. We will continue partnering with our tourism stakeholders to reinforce safety measures, deepen community engagement, and ensure that every guest to our shores feels the comfort and peace that Tobago is known for.
We respectfully ask that the privacy of the family of the deceased be upheld as investigations by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) continue.
Tobago has always been a place where people feel at ease, and where visitors are welcomed not as strangers, but as extended family. Even in this time of sorrow, that spirit endures and our commitment to safeguarding all who choose destination Tobago remains unwavering.
